Art Students' Juried Exhibition

So this whole "Thinking in Series" thing actually paid off. At the behest of one of my professors, I entered five of the images from the series into the competition and one of them was selected to be displayed at the Baron and Ellin Gordon Art Gallery at the ODU campus. Quite an honor considering the juror was Amy Brandt, The McKinnon Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art at the Chrysler Museum. In my previous post, it's the picture of the sign that says, "End of Ramp." Yeah... don't ask my why she picked that one.

Today, we were introduced to our next project, "Thinking Outside the Box". Kinda excited to get started on it but have no idea what concept, direction to go with it.

Thinking in Series (update)

After a lot of struggle with the conceptual idea of this project, I've finally distilled it to being about a place. I spent a lot of time in the South Virginia Beach/Pungo area either living or working with various persons on many projects - usually construction or ministry. I've always liked it out there, being away from the city and the hassles associated with it. In the series I've tried to capture what made me reflect on past events there - whither I was cognizant of them or not.
